What an adventure and as your brother said on his blog it is tough not to be envious as hell. An old professor of mine said, "95% of the people are good; the other 5%- Shits." Nice that you are meeting people from the majority.. A single speed bike has the advantage of presenting fewer technical glitches but you have to be a tough guy to ride it on the climbs.
